The chapel dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. Petrak’s historical tourist guidebook indicates a mere ruin of the chapel already in 1891. It was rebuild in 2002 thanks to a few local enthusiasts and a the Zdrave Krkonose (Healthy Krkonose) association. No records about the name of the chapel were preserved and therefore dedication to St. Michael is an estimation. The theme of the interior mural painting is The Last Judjement. In accordance to Christian tradition amidst the twelve apostles the archangel Michael – the intercessor and mediator of human prayers, the patron of the just - holds the weighing scales. On the left site St.Peter unlocks the door to heaven, on the right site the Devil welcomes the sinners to hell. The fresco painting was created using an ancient brushwork technique applying the pigment on the wet stucco. The mural was designed and realized by artist Květa Krhánková with a team of restorers. The central wooden relief of St. Michael was created by the woodcarver Petr Kysela.
