Town HallWhere the present town hall stands today most probably there used to stand a parish hall in the Middle Ages. After a fire in 1789 the town hall was rebuilt in the classical style still visible today. The roof was lowered in 1819 and a small tower with a clock was built in its center. In 1851 the building was extended towards the south. Today it features a unique repeating clock from the middle of the 19th century. The clock strikes every quarter of an hour with the number of whole quarters and hours recognizable from the number of strikes and by the chime. In addition the number of full hours is struck in a different chime every full hour. Masarykovo náměstí 140514 01 Jilemnice Phone: (+420) 481 565 111 Fax: (+420) 481 565 222 |
