Chojnik

The castle ruin lies on the Polish side of Giant Mountains just above Sobieszow (627 m). The first mention of the castle dates back to the 13th century. Later it became the seat of the Silesian family of Schaffgotsch and was destroyed by a fire in 1675. The well preserved ruins are one of the tourist attractions in the Giant Mountains. Around the castle lies a beautiful beech forest and a natural reserve.
